What’s better than a video tutorial that explains step by step everything you need to do?

Here is a video series (thankful to Ledger SAS) which will let you learn how to initialize your Ledger Nano X and enjoy all its features.

Before starting, don’t forget to download Ledger Live (available on desktop and mobile). The app let you set up your Ledger Nano X and manage your crypto.

How to set up Ledger Nano X

First of all, let’s see how to initialize your device.

During this phase, the most important thing is to write down and securely store the 24-word Recovery Phrase (your “seed”) that will be shown on the device screen.

Anyone with access to the 24 words will be able to move your cryptocurrencies, so never share your seed!

In order to get an extra layer of security, you can also use a “Ledger Cryptosteel Capsule”.

This a long-lasting and solid solution to protect your 24-word Recovery Phrase.

It’s made out of 303 and 304 grade stainless steel, making it fireproof up to 1400C/2500F. It is stainless, shockproof and waterproof up to a 150000N pressure.

Install/uninstall apps and add accounts on Ledger Nano X

Before starting using your device, you need to install applications on your Ledger Nano X for each crypto you want to manage.

  • If you wish to uninstall an app, click on the trash icon

Once you’ve installed your apps, you need to create an account in order to manage transactions and check your balance.

Depending on the crypto you want to manage, you can use Ledger Live for 1250+ natively supported crypto assets.

For the non-supported assets, you will need to use the compatible wallets.

  • Choose the crypto-asset of the account to add (the corresponding app must be installed on your device. Go to the “Manager” if the correct app is not installed)
  • Connect and unlock your device

  • Once added accounts can be safely deleted. They can be re-added on any other computer or smartphone at any time

How to transfer crypto to your Ledger Nano X

In this videos you will learn how to receive crypto-assets with your Ledger Nano X and take ownership of your crypto.

How to send crypto-assets using Ledger Live

If you want to send crypto from your Ledger device, you must know first that all transactions must be signed by physically pressing both two buttons of the device.

This is to protect your private keys, which stay always stored in a tamper proof memory area of the device.

You can exchange one crypto asset for another through Ledger Live. This is possible thanks to the partnership between Ledger and Changelly.

Essentially you can swap more than 45 crypto-assets directly within Ledger Live, without leaving the security of your Ledger device.
