Here is a video series (thankful to Ledger SAS) which will let you learn how to initialize your Ledger Nano X and enjoy all its features.
Before starting, don’t forget to download Ledger Live (available on desktop and mobile). The app let you set up your Ledger Nano X and manage your crypto.
How to set up Ledger Nano X
First of all, let’s see how to initialize your device.
During this phase, the most important thing is to write down and securely store the 24-word Recovery Phrase (your “seed”) that will be shown on the device screen.
Anyone with access to the 24 words will be able to move your cryptocurrencies, so never share your seed!
In order to get an extra layer of security, you can also use a “Ledger Cryptosteel Capsule”.
This a long-lasting and solid solution to protect your 24-word Recovery Phrase.
It’s made out of 303 and 304 grade stainless steel, making it fireproof up to 1400C/2500F. It is stainless, shockproof and waterproof up to a 150000N pressure.

This device brings an improved navigation system. Aside of having the screen’s size increased, a control center was added to enhance user experience.

Install/uninstall apps and add accounts on Ledger Nano X
Before starting using your device, you need to install applications on your Ledger Nano X for each crypto you want to manage.

- Install the apps you need from the “Manager” tab
- If you wish to uninstall an app, click on the trash icon
Once you’ve installed your apps, you need to create an account in order to manage transactions and check your balance.
Depending on the crypto you want to manage, you can use Ledger Live for 1250+ natively supported crypto assets.
Learn how to add accounts in Ledger Live, to be able to manage your crypto-assets.
For the non-supported assets, you will need to use the compatible wallets.

- Connect and unlock your device

- Once added accounts can be safely deleted. They can be re-added on any other computer or smartphone at any time
How to transfer crypto to your Ledger Nano X
In this videos you will learn how to receive crypto-assets with your Ledger Nano X and take ownership of your crypto.

- Tap the account to use and open the corresponding app on your Ledger Nano X
- Verify that the address shown in Ledger Live matches the one on your Ledger Nano X (never use an address that did not match)
- Copy the address and share it with the sender
How to send crypto-assets using Ledger Live
If you want to send crypto from your Ledger device, you must know first that all transactions must be signed by physically pressing both two buttons of the device.
This is to protect your private keys, which stay always stored in a tamper proof memory area of the device.
Let’s see how you can send crypto using your device in combination with Ledger Live.

How to swap crypto through Ledger Live (Changelly and ParaSwap)
You can exchange one crypto asset for another through Ledger Live. This is possible thanks to the partnership between Ledger and Changelly.
Essentially you can swap more than 45 crypto-assets directly within Ledger Live, without leaving the security of your Ledger device.

- Choose the amount to swap
- Open the “Exchange” app on your device
- Confirm swap operation on device
Now you can also swap crypto from within Ledger Live through a DeFi app. This is ParaSwap.
ParaSwap allows you to swap several Ethereum-native tokens by aggregating more than 20 decentralized exchanges (DEX) in a single interface, such as 0x, Balancer, Bancor, SushiSwap, Uniswap and many more.
ParaSwap is a decentralized exchange aggregator. All you need is an Ethereum account on Ledger Live.

Lido is a third-party partner that enables you to stake your ether directly through Ledger Live.
Staking ether means that you can earn profits by participating to the Proof of Stake (PoS) consensus protocol of Ethereum 2.0.

In some circumstances you may need to restore your Ledger Nano X to recover, replace or clone any other wallet.
